I love how the food was prepared to order. Fresh and hot. The flavors were spot on. I only ate about a third of my chicken Saj and was full (nice portions!)
This is one of the BEST chicken shawarmas that I've ever had. Price is reasonable $13 + fries under $20. Portion is outrageously abundant and so packed with flavors. What makes this shawarma stand out is the chicken marinade mixing with the white sauce. So flipping good. The owner is fantastic as well. This cart is FIRE!!
Late night, 10pm, order of a gyro and souvlaki plate delivered to wrong address by GrubHub (my mistake, sent to address across the street from my hotel). Even though we had to walk across and down the street to retrieve or meal 25 minutes after it was recorded delivered, food was still warm. Potions were okay. If you're hungry, definitely order a starter or share a 3rd dish. Tasty but did not . Found out there are similar trucks to order from in the same area when we ate at Huber's the following night (btw, don't order the fish and chips or the bread pudding at Huber's if you go...yuck!). I would try a couple more truck before going back... just to see if I could find that wow factor.
Got the chicken over rice . It was amazing . Flavor on the chicken was great and the rice too was really great . Came with I think a white garlic sauce on top , and a bit of a spicy sauce which I loved . Came with hummus that was the best hummus I've ever had. And tzatziki that was also the best tzatziki I've ever had , thought it was pretty unique tazizki because of how thick it was and how it had bigger strips of cucumber . The man behind it all was really nice and friendly and I enjoyed talking to him too . All of this for only 14$ . Amazing . If I'm ever in Portland again I'll be returning .
Like the name suggests, Moonlight Mediterranean Food Truck is the perfect spot for a late-night bite in Portland, Oregon. The vibrant flavors are a delightful treat after a night out. We love to eat here once in a while; the gyros are packed with succulent meat and fresh veggies, and the baklava is a sweet, flaky masterpiece. The truck is a beacon of hospitality that never disappoints, offering warm, friendly service no matter the hour. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mediterranean delights!
I don't know what to say. I got a pita and it was the best one ever. Lamb, maybe lamb and beef. Anyways, 10/10
Order: Chicken Shawarma Wrap & Fry's $19 total Pros: Sooo at first I was like they are expensive. But then I got the plate and I was like sheesh this a lot of food. The food was flavorful, hot, and filled to capacity. There was no skimping on this plate. Cons: n/a
I'VE BEEN CONVERTED. You guys. BEST LAMB GYRO IN PORTLAND. Most of my life I've stayed away from meats outside of the basic chicken, beef, turkey, etc. but WOW. After a friend got me the lamb gyro from here and tricked me into believing it was beef, I have been converted to LOVING lamb gyro. I have been here several times since and the meat is perfectly seasoned, flavorful, does not taste to game-y or tough. HIGHLY recommend their lamb gyro "with everything" and you will not be disappointed. Don't trust me? Look at how this food cart is the busiest one. I've also tried the Mediterranean cart just 3 slots down and while pretty good, why settle when you can have the best here? I also recommend another cart called Shawarma Express. Their lamb gyro is also amazing--a close second to here! If you come here late at night, it's pretty sketchy but there are usually lots of people coming and going so you don't feel too out of place. There's also plenty of free parking late at night so that's a plus too. Otherwise, it's street parking or a pay-for-parking lot right behind this cart.
I got the beef wrap. Pretty damn good! I'm the type of person who gets turned off when a rinky food cart has chopped or ground beef that is weird. Wasn't the case here. I thought it was awesome. Despite being chopped into very small bits, it still was somehow pretty juicy. No weird fatty bits that are hard to chew. And the flavor was great. I don't quite know how to explain it. Definitely seasoned well with salt, but it also had maybe like a subtle sweetness to it. Maybe some sort of added umami too. The tzatziki sauce was pretty good too. The wrap itself was just average. I guess you can't expect a guy running a food cart to be making em fresh though. I was a little bit disappointed in the price + serving size combo. A little expensive, a little small. $13 for the wrap and I needed to get something else after because I was still hungry. A water bottle was only $1 though. That tells me that the somewhat high $13 price is probably just because ingredients are expensive nowadays. If they were trying to play hardball with maximizing profit the water wouldn't be $1.
Amazing food cart across from the Hi-Lo Hotel. Mediterranean food... the Falafel is amazing! Super light and airy, almost pillow-like! The owner is super hard working and does everything himself. All food is homemade and absolutely delicious. He is open very long hours, sometimes until 3 or 4 am! Highly recommend! It's not your ordinary food cart!
